Out of the box, the Windows 2003 Adminpak tools do not run on Windows Vista. When they are loaded, MMC claims that "MMC could not create the snap-in.". This is due to some DLLs not being registered properly. To fix this, paste the following commands into a command prompt or batch file running with elevated privileges (right click and "Run as Administrator"):

I am running x64 version of Vista. I installed the W200s SP1 admin tools, and then ran the script as the KB article suggests.
Half of the tools work, ie DNS and loca security policy for example, but the AD tools do not.
I still get the MMC could not create the snap in error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does this process work on the x64 version of Vista? I tried loading the adminpak from the x64 version of windows 2003 R2 standard and it won't register most of the dlls. Anyone get this working?
